“Sweeeet Treats” Great little bakery popular with the locals. I am amazed how they make a heavy looking biscuit so lite and airy. I highly recommend the cinnamon bun with icing. Friendly atmosphere in a bohemian location (The Starland District). If you plan on going on the weekend, be prepared to stand on line; worth the wait. http://backinthedaybakery.com/ Visit All The Time #Breakfast #Lunch #BackintheDayBakery
So there are a few Sisters locations in the SAV. I prefer the Skidaway Rd location where we went for lunch......I meant, LUNCH. First off, it is an unassuming location and maybe a tad sketchy. But do not fear, the locals are wonderful people and you will definitely want to go back. That said, it is counter ordering; you stand in a long line (very much worth it) and point to the food you would like. All the food is cooked from scratch by authentic Southern Women. I loved the fr
“BIG BREAKFAST!” You better go to J. Christopher's hungry. The portions are very big. I have eaten here a few times and it is consistently good food. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the sounds of Savannah. They are also dog friendly; there is actually a portion of the menu for dogs. My only complaint, is they might want to try and work on the grits. http://www.jchristophers.com/ Visited December 2015 #Breakfast #Lunch
“Surprisingly Good Pizza” I'm from NJ, so if I go South, I will not get pizza. However, my wife and I were exhausted from driving to Savannah that day and just felt like pizza.
The pizza was very much like the pizza I get in NJ. I was very surprised since all I ever heard about pizza in the South is that it is all like Papa Johns. I would definitely recommend their pizza.
With that said, the night we went, their was only one kid working and someone else delivering. The ki
“GREAT FRIES !!!” Cozy local foodie place looks to be frequented by SCAD students. I stopped by for a late lunch after reading an article in a local paper. The fries are a must. I had the "Boardwalk”, "lil angel" and the "Windy City"; all good. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. https://www.slysslidersandfries.com/ Visited September 2016 #Lunch #Dinner
“Comfortable bar stools” This is my favorite place to eat on River Street. Great atmosphere and food. I have eaten here many times and always good food.Very friendly service. http://www.exchangetavernsavannah.com/ Visited September 2016 #Lunch #Dinner
“New favorite lunch spot” Stopped at BowTie barbecue for lunch and sat outside in the cozy courtyard. With a plethora of adult beverages to choose from, I opted for a few local drafts. The smoked chicken wet was fall off the bone. I went with a side of beans, which were good, but the mac n cheese should be by prescription only! My wife decided on the coconut pudding pie for desert; I could have eaten the entire pan! I'd highly recommend BowTie Barbecue to anyone looking for
“Hipster Lunch” Definitely on SCAD radar. Really nice seating for a café style bistro. Had the Muffuletta, and a great cup of coffee. My wife went with the turkey something sandwich and a sweet tea. After changing out my wife's stale bread for some fresh, which they were very polite about, all was fine. Not cheap eats since it's downtown, but I'd recommend at least stopping in for a coffee. http://www.savannahcoffee.com/ Visited February 2017 #Lunch
SAVANNAH TAPHOUSE. Definitely a great place to watch the game. You have a view of a TV from wherever you sit. My wife and I shared a few apps on our last visit. The food has an interesting twist. The burger sliders had an interesting cheese and bacon jam on them, but very good. The mac and cheese egg rolls were great, but the pretzel bites were kind of weird; not really a pretzel, more like a pizza dough, but the dipping cheese was great.
The staff was very friendly and atte
The New Old Crystal Beer Parlor does not disappoint. My wife and I decided to wait for a seat at the bar since the table wait was over an hour. Many good beers on tap and a good selection of food. We split the pulled pork nachos, which were great, and I had the shrimp salad sandwich; excellent. The bar tenders were attentive, even for a packed bar, and friendly. They will give you samples of beer if you are not sure if you will like it or not.
Always a great place for lunch
“Off the beaten path” Since 1963, Walls has been serving up some of the best bbq in Savannah. You could easily mistaken it for someone's house, but the fragrant aroma will reassure you that you are there. Love the mac n cheese and the service exudes Southern Hospitality. Make this little gem a lunch stop next time you're in town. #Lunch
