Wormsloe

A beautiful setting on the outskirts of Savannah.

Built as a fortified house on the Skidaway narrows, Noble Jones(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noble_Jones) settled the area to defend against a possible Spanish invasion.Later he used the land for crop cultivation and with his death, passed the plantation on to his daughter.

Today, the ruins of the first house can still be visited. The decedents of Noble Jones still own the plantation and live on private areas of the land.

I highly recommend a visit, if not for the history, then for the absolute beauty of the long oak lined drive to the bluff. Enjoy!

Note: The cover for Gregg Allman's Low Country Blues album was shot on the oak lane to Wormsloe.
