Colonial Park Cemetery Colonial Park Cemetery dates back to around 1750 and rests in the middle of the Historic District. You can stroll through the grounds since it is open everyday. If you find the location to be a bit odd, do not become bewildered. The cemetery was enclosed to make room for the city's expansion. Now, since that was in the 1850's, and it cost a lot of money to dig a grave, the town just picked up the headstones and built right on top of the dead. So yes, even if you are one of those people that does not like to walk in a cemetery, just by walking around it, you still are walking over the dead.
