Forsyth Park

This thirty acre park rests just outside the Historic District and is engulfed by the Victorian District in Downtown Savannah. Forsyth Park, named after the Governor of Georgia at the time of the expansion in 1851 John Forsyth, is anchored by the majestic fountain modeled after the fountains found in Place de la Concorde in Cuzco, Peru. Any given day you will find people taking pictures or making paintings the fountain. The park has been home to many weddings and special events, such as the Savannah Jazz Festival. As with the rest of Sav, Forsyth Park is dog friendly. I enjoy taking a stroll around the fountain and taking in the sweet Savannah air. This is a must see on your tour of our city. Enjoy!
